Day 1 is When You Arrive in India at the New Delhi International Airport

When you arrive in New Delhi, you will be welcomed at the airport by a Himalayan Outback representative and transported to a hotel near the airport. If you are flying to Delhi, please supply us with your flight information. If you are driving to Delhi, please go straight to Roseate House.

Day 2 is When We Arrive in Srinagar, Kashmir

The concierge at Roseate House will organise your transfer to Delhi airport, where you will join your journey to Srinagar. This flight takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a member of The Himalayan Outback crew and escorted to Taj Vivanta, which is around a 45-minute drive from Srinagar Airport. There are various paths that lead out into the surrounding forests, and we will be pleased to organise short hikes or a leisurely boat trip on the famed Dal Lake – just let us know if this is something that interests you.

Day 3 is of Our Travel to Sonamarg

We will reach Sonamarg after a two-hour trip. We’d stay at our favourite bed and breakfast just outside of Sonamarg. Its lovely lush green forested valley is surrounded by very pleasant surroundings. Afterwards in the evening, we may take a short stroll through the woods on a trail to get a sense of the days ahead.

Day 4 is Our  to Shekdur Campground

It will be a 20-minute journey from our accommodation to the trek’s starting site. The most of our day’s trip would be a moderate to severe ascent through Maple and Silver Birchforests, as well as sections of stunning alpine meadows. This region is populated by nomadic tribes that move to the alpine meadows in search of suitable grazing for their livestock throughout the summer. We’ll set our tent in a nice meadow near Shekdur Village. The journey will take around 4 hours, and we will camp at a height of 3150 metres.

Day 5 is When We Travel from Shekdur Campsite to Nichnai

The first 30 minutes of the walk will take you across a lovely meadow before entering a Silver Birch woodland. You will drop for a time when the forest stops and enter the Nichani valley. In front of you is a field strewn with massive rocks. We’ll hike for a couple of hours before arriving at our campground. The walk would take around four hours, and we would camp at a height of 3650 metres.

Day 6 is for Travel from Nichnai To Vishnusar

It will begin with a modest ascent along a track that winds through Alpine Grasslands. After that, we’ll ascend for an hour to reach the top of the Nichnai Pass (3825 Meters). Then it’s a steep drop for an hour and a half to eventually enter a big valley and a long trek through meadows to reach our campground in Vishnusar. And it will take us around 7 hours to go on the trip, and we will camp at a height of 3625 metres.

Day 7 is Our Rest Day In Vishnusar

It will begin with a modest ascent along a track that winds through Alpine Grasslands. After that, we’ll ascend for an hour to reach the top of the Nichnai Pass (3825 Meters). Then it’s a steep drop for an hour and a half to eventually enter a big valley and a long trek through meadows to reach our campground in Vishnusar. It will take us around 7 hours to go the trip, and we will camp at a height of 3625 metres.

Day 8 is When We Travel from Vishnusar to Gadsar

The first hour will be an easy ascent to the base of Gadsar Pass. And the following 12 hours will be a tough ascent until you reach Gadsar Pass. The views of Kishansar and Vishnusar Lakes are stunning towards the summit. Gadsar Pass, at an elevation of 4200 metres, will be our trek’s highest point. Then there’d be a long fall into a broad valley, followed by a long stroll across meadows. Our trip will take around 7 hours, and we will camp at a height of 3310 metres.

Day 9 is When We Travel from Gadsar to Mangan Tak

The first two hours will be a tough ascent before we walk along a ridge line and emerge in a broad valley with meadows on both sides. After a brief ascent via a moraine, we will begin our descent on a broad route before arriving at camp. Our trip will take around 6 hours, and we will camp at a height of 3650 metres.

Day 10 is When We Travel from Mangan Tak to Gangabal

We begin the day with a 30-minute descent before climbing slowly for 2 hours to the base of Gangabal pass. After a little pause, we will ascend slowly for 45 minutes to the pass, where we will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Gangabal and Nandkol lakes, which are located at the base of the beautiful Harmukh Peak. It’s a one-hour steep drop down a rocky narrow slope before reaching a big meadow, followed by a 30-minute gradual ascent to our campsite near to Gangaballake. Our walk will take around 5 hours, and we will camp at a height of 3585 metres.

Day 11 is for Travel from Gangabal to Naranag (Road-Head) to Srinagar

The first two hours are spent on a beautiful track that slowly descends from alpine meadows to the forest line. The remaining three hours are a sharp downhill down a dusty pony road till we reach Naranag. Our autos will meet us and take us to the Taj Vivanta in Srinagar. The trip will last two hours.

Day 12 is for Travel to Srinagar

You may either rest and relax or we can take you on a half-day tour of Srinagar. It will be a self-guided tour led by a local historian.

Day 13 is for Travel to Srinagar Airport and flight to Delhi

After breakfast, we will drive you to Srinagar Airport for your travel to Delhi. You will be welcomed at Delhi Airport by a Roseate House Airport Representative and transported to the hotel.

Day 14 is When You Depart

You will be transported to the airport by the attendant of the Roseate House (check out time is 12 noon) (check out time is 12 noon).
