Overview:
The Himalayan region is home to many ancient trails and paths leading to splendid meadows, alpine lakes, thick rich Coniferous forests and magnificent views of the massive Himalayas.
Dayara Bugyal is one such trail and maybe tops them all. This moderate trek starts from the picturesque village of Barsu in Uttarkashi and winds its way to the beautiful Dodital Lake. Barsu serves as the base for the Dayara Bugyal trek

Himalayan trekking is always a challenge for the mind and body, but the views on offer make it worth putting one step in front of the other. During the trek you will be treated to magnificent visuals of Himalayan giants like; Gangotri Massif (I, II & III), Jaunli (6,620 M), Srikanth (6,150 M), Draupadi Ka Danda I & II (5,643m & 5,770m), Bandarpunch( 6,320 M). Our trek would start from a quaint hamlet of Barsu and eventually over many days meander down to Agoda.
It is certainly a spectacular trek which offers thick rich Coniferous forests, alpine meadows and magnificent views of the massive Himalayas. For thousands of years Gujjars have come to these meadows to graze their cattle and bask in the magnificence of such natural beauty and abundance of natural resources for their livestock. Nestled between great Himalayan peaks like Bandarpunch (6,320m) & White Peak (6,102m) this is perhaps one of the most rich beautiful meadows to trek in Uttrakhand.
Brief Itinerary of your Dayara Bugyal Trek :
- DAY 1: You will be met at Delhi airport & escorted to your hotel.
- DAY 2: Early morning flight from Delhi to Dehradun. A 6 hour drive to your Lodge in Barsu
- DAY 3 - 8: A full six days of trekking
- DAY 9: A short trek to reach the road head and a 3 ½ hour drive to Dehradun airport to connect with your flight to Delhi. Transfer to your hotel
- DAY 10: Check out from your hotel and transfer to Delhi airport for your flight back home.
Detailed day by day itinerary
Arrival In India
On your arrival at New Delhi International Airport you will be met just outside the “Arrival” area by a chauffeur of Roseate House hotel. The chauffeur will have a placard with your name clearly mentioned.
You will be driven from the airport to the Roseate House hotel which is located about 3 kms (2 miles) away and will be just a short 5 minute drive.
Please note that Check In is at 2 pm – early check in may or may not be possible without additional payment.
Get a good night’s rest after your long flight and get ready for your Himalayan adventure.

Delhi To Devprayag
After an early breakfast the concierge will arrange your transfer to the airport.
Your short one hour flight from Delhi will bring you to Dehradun. Our vehicles will pick you from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun and drive you to the quaint village of Barsu.
This 6-7 hour drive takes one into the rugged landscape of Garhwal. It’s a beautiful drive once you leave the town of Dehradun and head north to Barsu..

Barsu – Barmala Bugyal (2500 M)
After breakfast, we will start our trek to Barnala Bugyal. The climb is a moderate one with intermittent ascents. We cross a dilapidated gujjar hut right after the forest
clearing, then a short climb to Barnala Meadows. We camp here. 5 hour trek

Barmala Bugyal – Dayara Bugyal (3350 M)
Along the way we will be blessed with magnificent views of Bandarpoonch peak (6316m) and its neighbouring heights. A comfortable trail which will climb steadily for most of the day.

Dayara – Syari Top (3810 M)
We leave after an early meal and walk on the trail leading to Bakaria/Siyari Top. The trail goes through meadows and is mostly gradual all the way to the top (3810m).

Beautiful trek through alpine forest and then around the beautiful Dodital lake. It will be largely downhill till we reach Dodital Lake.

Dodital – Agoda – Dehradun – Delhi
Mostly downhill on a well beaten path till we reach Agoda, From there our vehicles will drive us (3 1/2 hours) along the Ganges to Rishikesh & on to Jolly Grant Airport and connect to your flight from Dehradun to Delhi.
