Delhi To Srinagar

After an early breakfast the concierge will arrange your transfer to the airport. Your short one hour flight from Delhi will bring you to Srinagar airport. On your arrival at Srinagar International Airport you will be met just outside the “Arrival” area by our representative. The chauffeur will have a placard with your name clearly mentioned.

You will be driven from the airport to a beautiful Lodge which is located about 11 kms away and will be a short drive of 35 mins.

Please note that Check In is at 2 pm. Get a good night’s rest after your long flight and get ready for your Himalayan adventure.

Srinagar

Enjoy acclimatizing in the beautiful city of Srinagar. The better part of the day will be spent doing conditioning walks in the Zabarwan mountains. Our chief instructor and his team will be at hand to share technical and practical knowledge of being safe in the mountains.

Srinagar To Shekdur

From our lodge the trek starting point will be a 3 hour drive along the Sindh River.

Most of today’s trek will be moderate to steep climb through Maple and Silver Birch forest and patches of beautiful alpine meadows. This area is inhabited by nomadic tribes who, in summer, migrate towards the alpine meadows in search of good grazing for their livestock. We will set up our campsite close to Shekdur Village in a beautiful meadow. The trekking time would be about 4 hours and we will be camping at an elevation of 3,150 meters.

Shekdur Campsite To Nichnai

The first 30 minutes of the walk will be through a beautiful meadow before you enter a Maple and Silver Birch forest. Where the forest ends you will descend, for a while, and enter the Nichani Valley. In front of you lies a breathtaking meadow scattered with huge rocks.

We will walk along for a couple of hours before we reach our campsite. The trekking time would be about 4 hours and we would be camping at an elevation of 3,650 meters.

Nichnai To Vishnusar

Initially it will be a moderate climb along a trail snaking through alpine grasslands. After that we will climb for an hour to finally crest the Nichnai Pass (3,825 Meters). Then it’s a steep downhill trek for 1 ½ hour to finally enter a wide valley and a long walk through meadows to finally reach our campsite in Vishnusar. 

It will take us around 7 hours to cover the distance and we will be camping at an elevation of 3,625 meters.

Rest Day In Vishnusar

It’s nice to rest, relax and take in your surrounding landscape and today will be such a day. Close to Vishnusar are the twin lakes “Kishansar and Vishnusar” which are set in beautiful surroundings and a picnic around them would be just the perfect way to spend the day. We can also try our hand at fly fishing as well.

Vishnusar To Gadsar

The initial 1 hour will be a gentle climb to the base of Gadsar Pass. The next 1 ½ hours will be a steep climb till you crest Gadsar Pass. Close to the top you will get spectacular views of Kishansar and Vishnusar Lakes. Gadsar Pass at an elevation of 4200 meters and will be the highest point of our trek. Next would be a long descent into a wide valley and then a long walk through meadows. 

Our trekking time would be around 7 hours and we will be camping at an elevation of 3,310 Meters.

Gadsar To Mangan Tak

The initial 2 hours will be a steep climb before we walk on a ridge line and then arrive at a wide valley with meadows on both sides. After a short climb through a moraine we will start our descent on a wide trail before we arrive at camp. Our trekking time would be around 6 hours and we will be camping at an elevation of 3,650 Meters.

Mangan Tak To Gangabal

We start our day with a 30-minute descent before we climb steadily for 2 hours to arrive at the base of Gangabal Pass. After a bit of rest, we will climb steadilyfor 45 minutes to crest the Pass and get magnificent views of Gangabal and Nandkol lakes located at the base of the magnificent Harmukh Peak. It’s a steep descent over a rocky narrow slope for 1 hour before we reach a wide meadow and then a final 30-minute gentle climb to reach our campsite next to Gangabal Lake. Our trekking time would be around 5 hours and we will be camping at an elevation of 3,585 meters.

Gangabal To Narang (road-head) To Srinagar

The first 2 hours is a very nice trail gently descending from alpine meadows to the tree line. The last 3 hours is a steep down-hill over a dusty pony track till we finally reach Naranag. We will be met by our cars and transferred to Srinagar. The drive will be for 2 hours.

Srinagar To Delhi

After breakfast you will be transferred to Srinagar Airport to take the flight to Delhi. On your arrival at New Delhi International Airport you will be met just outside the “Arrival” area by a chauffeur of Roseate House hotel. The chauffeur will have a placard with your name clearly mentioned.

You will be driven from the airport to the Roseate House hotel which is located about 3 kms (2 miles) away and will be just a short 5 minute drive.

Accommodation: Roseate House, Aerocity New Delhi or similar

Meals: Breakfast only

Please inform the concierge of your flight timings so that your transfer to the airport can be made at the appropriate time.
